Usage Guidelines for LRC Study Rooms (Discussion Rooms /Thesis Room/AV Room)
- Operating Hours
- Discussion Room Availability: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (All working days).
- Booking Procedure
- Slot Duration: The study rooms can be booked upto maximun 2hours where the default time slot (Full Time) is 1 hour. However the group can choose time limit at the time of boking (i.e. short time-15 minutes, half time-30 minutes, Full time- 1 hour and Double time 2 hours).
- Booking Basis: Bookings are available online. Link details are given in LRC Website.
- Group: The room can be booked for group study/discussion with minimum of 4 users up to maximum of the seating capacity of the rooms
- Seat capacity: Discussion rooms- 9 seats each; Thesis room- 8 seats; AV room- 18 seats).
- Key Collection
- Location: The key along with the remote of AC for the room must be collected from the LRC manager.
- Deposit: To collect the key, minimum four user need to submit their institute ID card, while collecting the room key.
- Return: After your booking slot ends, please return the key to the LRC manager.
- Usage Guidelines

Timeliness: Please ensure you vacate the room promptly at the end of your booked time slot to allow the next users to access the room on time.

Room Maintenance: When user(s) are finished using a study room, they must ensure that rooms are left clean for the next users. ACs, Lights are to be turned off, doors are locked before returning the key to the LRC Manager. Ensure you take all your belongings when you leave. A penalty of will be imposed to all users, if any of them disturbs the cleanliness of the room for the first time. Repeated offenders will be debarred to use the facility along with penalty for second time.

Noise Level: The rooms are not soundproof, and as such groups are asked to monitor the volume of their conversations so as not to disturb other library users.

Extensions: If no one has booked the next slot, you may extend your booking by another 1 hours. However, this must be confirmed with LRC Manager.

Responsibility: Users are responsible for any damage or loss of property in the study rooms during their booking time. The group will be responsible for the Physical damage of display/accessories etc in the room. The group has to bear the entire amount of physical damage of the any items in the discussion room.

Keys cannot be taken out of the LRC. The group has to bear the cost of lock replacement charge for lost study room keys. This fine will be added to the user’s library record and the user will not be allowed to check out or renew library materials until the fee is paid.

Appropriate Behaviour: The use of the discussion room is for the academic use only. Any non-academic/illegal activities are strictly prohibited and will lead to disciplinary action.
Additional notes
- The LRC and its study rooms are under CCTV surveillance.
- The Penalty amount will be added to the respective user account of the Library.
